Sergey Tattoo Wizard

Sergey traveled to America from Moscow in pursuit of a new American dream; classic diners, race cars, gas station hot dogs, and tattooing whatever he wants, whenever he wants. He’s successfully obtained his dream and focuses most of his attention on his race car.

His professional background had future projections of being an architect, but just like on the race track, life takes left turns and you somehow end up in a different country, painting bar fights, and decking out a chevy van like it’s Chewbacca with a Hemi. Both paths seem promising as we re-evaluate what the American dream truly means to us. What I like about this path that he’s paved (with burning rubber) is how well he embraces this under-valued culture from the 70’s/80’s and injects it with an immense amount of style and personality that one could only identify AS “Sergey.”

His back pieces are works of beauty

You can tell by looking at his tattoo work, how it’s a twist on the traditional style with some comedic flare. He almost turns work into small comic scenes that could be published in a tattoo version of the New Yorker. Even though he has a strong accent, he’s an exceptional visual communicator, and even though his style is based on traditional tattoo style, you can easily recognize that it’s a Sergey piece. When I first came across his work, I was grabbing a coffee at See See on Sandy Blvd and saw a huge painting of a flat track race with brawls all around it. Now, I had JUST come back from the Wild One Races in Castle Rock, and it was so spot-on that we NEEDED to know how painted it and we were not disappointed. Sergey is a true gem of a person in Portland, and we cant wait to see what he does with his tattoos, his racecar, and his modified American dream life.

Sergey is also our spirit animal.
