Barnes & Morgan

I’ve grown an affinity towards people with great style. I also believe it’s okay to change it up from time to time and embrace a new view of yourself. Many people might be stuck in their ways, trying to dress in the period of life where they feel they “peaked” in. Others might be reaching out for a new view of themselves through dress. No matter how one might look at it, style has become a massive influence in culture worldwide. Amir Morgan has become a major influence on style in Portland and is cultivating a unique community. One where people can continue to learn about the nuances of custom tailoring, textiles, and diversifying your visual palette to better find style that suits you.

When Amir officially opened up his shop, Barnes & Morgan, he set a vision to blend fine teas, delicious treats, and of course, garments. He also introduced a regularly scheduled event, Measurement Monday. Amir has observed that many people don’t really understand garment measurements, and something as simple as that creates a hurdle for anyone shopping outside basic shirt and pant sizes. At Measurement Monday, you can sip a fine tea, be professionally measured, and be provided a digital copy of all your body measurements so you can say with confidence that you DO know what your neck size is, or your pant outer seam is, and you might even surprise yourself with bicep size. Most importantly, you take the first step in furthering your knowledge of yourself to open up the possibilities for personal style.

Stepping inside Barnes & Morgan, you feel lighter. Every detail of the interior is thoughtful and intentional. I enjoy taking the Black Bulb team there regularly and testing out the EXCEPTIONAL sweet teas they’ve been working on. It’s holistic and expands my outlook on my situation every time I set foot inside.  We thoroughly enjoyed shooting these photos, nibbling on Bavlava, and having visions for the future. Amir, we love what you’ve built.
